Need For Speed Nitro for Wii ~Review

I was asked to if I wanted to do a review for Need For Speed Nitro and at first I thought, "Do I really want to do this one, or not?" Then after giving it some thought, I decided that I would do it. I had heard some really harsh comments about Need For Speed and was leary about it but I am glad that I decided to do it. First off I need to start by saying that it is not what I thought it would be at all, but I am definitely glad I decided to review it. In order to write the review I received a review copy to keep for myself.

I loved that at the beginning of the game, it has a warning that says that street racing is illegal. lol

So, here is a little bit about the game (from the company):

Need for Speed Nitro will have players of all skill levels hooked from the moment they get into the action, while arcade racing fans will be exhilarated by the deep and challenging gameplay. Gamers can build up their boost as they drift and drag behind their opponents and use it strategically to change the course of the race, but watch out for the cops! Offering a fresh and unique visual style, the game features a variety of licensed cars which can be fully customized to let the game reflect the player’s taste and personality.

Own Your World at 200MPH!

Customize your car, take corners at 200 mph, and own your opponents. Need for Speed NITRO delivers the fun and exhilaration of high-speed racing with deep and challenging gameplay, where racing skills are not the only way to victory.

Master advanced techniques such as building up boost by taking risks on the road, then use it at the right moment to take the lead. But don’t forget about the cops, who will do everything they can to disrupt the race. And for the ultimate bragging rights, impose your graphical style on the world when you lead.

However you choose to race, never count on victory until you’ve crossed the finish line.

As I am sitting here writing this review, my daughter is playing this game and loving it. So it is definitely for both boys and girls. She has her a hot pink rocking Renault 4L car, with black stars all over it. She is all about the pink things. She is also complaining that it would be much easier if the cops would quit trying to wreck her. lol

As you play and win, you get more options for your cars. You get more cars to choose from, different paint brushes so you can create different designs. She is just excited that she is getting to drive a Chevy Corvette. lol Who would have thought that she is 20.

Her thoughts on the game are that it's a great game but it's kind of hard, but do we get to keep it? Yes, we get to keep it and the rest was my thoughts exactly. That is definitely not a bad thing though, who wants to play an easy game that there is no challenge to. I think we may have to move the Wii out of the living room now, so someone else can watch TV while she is playing this game. lol
