Help Me Find A Great Walking Shoe

Weather here is Ohio is beautiful today so my Sister-in-law, one of my good friends and I headed out for a walk and we ended up walking 7.5 miles and I am feeling great and so energized. It is amazing to me how much easier it was for me to walk today compared to last summer/fall. That gives me lots of confidence that what I am doing is a great thing and that I need to keep it up because not only am I shedding pounds but my breathing is much easier also.

I know that one thing that I must do is get out there and get myself a good pair of walking shoes because the insoles of my poor shoes are worn out and my feet are a bit sore and the bottoms of them felt like they were on fire when we were walking. Not a good thing! Here is what my current everyday/every occasion shoes look like and yes, they are in serious need of a washing.

I looked at a few different pairs of walking shoes at Christmas time when we were buying Rissa a new pair of Nike Shox for Christmas but I didn't want to spend a bunch of money on shoes that weren't good for walking and I know that the shoes that I own now are NOT good for walking because they are heavy and bulky. They are....were fine for wearing everyday but not for walking miles at a time at a fast pace, especially after I have worn out the insoles.

I have been online looking at a couple of shoes that I like the looks of, which means absolutely nothing when it comes to comfort first. So here is my question to all of you:

What is your favorite walking shoe??

  1. I've had good experiences with New Balance and Reebok walking shoes! And wow, that is a lot of walking! That's so impressive! I don't think I could walk 1-2 miles, let alone 7. If that's your regular rate, I would say that getting a shoe with a lot of padding would be the way to go!
