Book Review ~ Taken for English by Olivia Newport, Gets 4 Stars In My Book!

Title: Taken for English (Valley of Choice Book 3)
Author: Olivia Newport
Publisher: Barbour Publishing
Publish Date: Feb. 1, 2014

Description

Annie joined the Amish church based on prayerful conviction, not romantic dreams. And yet, she’d hoped to share her new life with Rufus. But he’s obviously in no hurry. Family history clearly shows it’s never been easy living a plain life in the English world. Will the changes and challenges Annie now faces as a young Amish woman test her newfound faith in good ways or bad? And how long will Rufus test her patience?

My Thoughts

The story line of Annie and Rufus and their families is a very enjoyable one, even with the little twists in the book. Their faith is so strong that I am some time amazed at this and I am amazed at how trusting and forgiving their faith has taught them to be.

The story line of the ancestors is a little easier to follow in this book than it has been in the other books in this series but I am still not big on having to try to follow to story lines so this is the only reason that I can't give this book a 5 star. Don't get me wrong, the story line is a really great one and I keep waiting for the generations to come together at some point. I just wish I didn't have to follow the different eras.

All in all, I wish the book would have continued and I am really hoping that there is a fourth book because there is more that I want to know about Annie and Rufus's relationship and the others. I feel like I have been left hanging. So until the next book, which I have my fingers crossed will happen, here I sit hanging on.
If you'd like you can read my review of the first book in this series called Accidentally Amish HERE and/or my review of the second book in this series called In Plain View HERE.
