Publish date: 4-5-2011

About this book:

In this adorable board book, a little panda thanks God for his wonderful mommy—a mommy who gives hugs and cuddles, who takes great care of him, and most importantly, who offers love and guidance for her precious panda cub.

Thank You, God, for Mommy,
And lullabies so sweet—
The beating of her great, big heart
Sings me right to sleep.

The love and sacrifices of mothers everywhere will be celebrated by mother and child as they snuggle up together and say Thank You, God, for Mommy

My thoughts:

This is a very cute book with an adorable Panda and I love the rhyming. I am definitely going to be purchasing one for my Home Daycare. I had the opportunity to read this on my Kindle but it takes a lot away from the pictures which I think are a big part of the book. I am looking forward to getting it and can not wait to read it again and again to the kids.

Sarah's Choice Brides of Lehigh Canal Book 3~ Book Review

SarahsChoice Sarahs Choice (Book 3)

Title: Sarah's Choice
Subtitle: Brides of Lehigh Canal Book Three
Publisher: Barbour Publishing, Inc
Publish Date: 12/1/2010
Author: Wanda E. Brunstetter

About the book:

Sarah Turner is a widowed lock tender who has resolved to find a way off the canal. But when she and her three children meet the easy-going captain Elias Brooks, her determination begins to falter. Should she follow the dictates of her heart or the logic of her mind? The canal boat captain is certain no woman will ever see beyond the ugly red birthmark on his face--which didn't seem to matter much until he met Sarah. Will he work up the courage to pursue her? Or will the handsome blacksmith propose before Elias finds the key to unlock Sarah's tender heart?

My thoughts:

With this being the third book in the series, it would also as a stand alone book. Sarah, the main character, is a widower who lost her husband to an accident in the canal which leaves her working as the lock tender, a tough job for a woman. Sarah also has three young children that she must care for while constantly working six day per week. She is only looking to provide for her children and eventually get away from the canal which she had once did when she and her husband ran off to get married when they were younger.

Elias, is a single business man who inherited his Grandfather's canal boat and he feels that what his Grandfather wanted was for him to continue to haul coal up the canal. When he inherited this boat, he quit his job where he worked with his father with a newspaper company and that left his relationship with his father estranged.

Now, that is all I am going to tell you about the goodies of the book because I wouldn't want to spoil it for you but I will say that I am hoping that there is a Book Four. This was a fast read for me, definitely a weekend read but the pages fly by because they are so interesting that you just want to keep going to see what happens next. I love how Sarah handles herself in the situation she is in and I wish all single mom's out there were strong like her. The love that she has for her children is unmistakable and sometimes in real life that is pushed aside.
