Oh, What A Night........TEENAGERS Get My Blood Boiling!

Below you will find a picture of some eggs. Most people eat eggs. I happen to love eggs.....when the are cooked over medium...
View Image

NOT WHEN THEY ARE SPLATTERED ON OUR BIG PICTURE WINDOW!!

Yep, you guessed it!

Now, let me tell you the story.........

It was about midnight and Hubby had just got home from a friends house re-plumbing their bathroom and I had fixed him a couple of sandwiches and walked into the living room to give them to him. Now, I am standing about 2 1/2 feet from our huge (longer than our couch huge) picture window talking to him and KA-BAM!!

It sounded like a gun shot. I jumped and we all three (me, hubby and daughter) says "What was that?" Of course I am sure hubby and I threw a few more words in there. I turned around and there was egg running down the outside of the window. I look past the egg and see some jerk running down our driveway. Not gracefully either because of the snow. So me, being the calm person runs over to the front door and starts out, with my slippers on, because I am going to kick some major butt!! There are some things that I see NO humor in! Now as I am going out the door to chase the idiot running down my drive to the awaiting car sitting in the road with NO lights on. A black car to boot! My hubby is yelling "I am going! I am going!" Okay already then go! I didn't want to run down the drive in the snow anyway, especially in my slippers.

So hubby takes off out the door, by this time the idiot is now in the black neon and is trying to get it moving on our slicker that snot on a door knob road. Hubby jumps in his truck and he is trying to get it going in this snow. You know how it is when you are in a hurry and it's just impossible to get going on snow and ice. Well, anyway hubby gets going and chases him up the road about a quarter mile to our nearby christian school and hubby pulls in behind the idiot. Well, of course the idiot just threw an egg at someones window and they are chasing him, so he takes off again.

Hubby follows the idiot and has to make himself NOT run the idiot off the road. He says it's because then he would have to call the cops and tell them there was an accident, and that there is no damage really to either vehicle but the guy driving the other car will need a squad because he has had the crap beat out of him for being an idiot. Well Hubby follows him, oh about 4 or 5 miles and the idiot tries to turn left on snow and ice and was going a little too fast and couldn't make the turn so hubby got close enough to get that little piece of information that is on the back of the car that is all lit up with a nice white light. You know, the license plate number....

Hubby comes home and I get to make that phone call to our local Sheriffs department to tell them about the idiot throwing the egg at my house and the crazy husband that I have for chasing him down. The Sheriff's deputy gives me the name of the owner of the car and where they are from and says they are going to get into contact with them and see what's going on.

At about 2:00am I get a phone call from the deputy and he now has this 19 year old boy on the other line and explains that they are going to give him a WARNING for this because he has a clean record....but he has to come to MY house and apologize to me and my hubby. ROFLMAO The deputy wants to know if this is okay with me? I tell him "Yea, but not for a couple days because I would still like to knock the crap out of him." I probably should have not told the deputy that, but oh well.

So, next Saturday at 1:00pm he is supposed to be here. I would love to have a huge gathering at my house so that he has to apologize for being an IDIOT in front of everyone. I do have to admit that he can wing an egg quite a distance.

Now, while hubby is off chasing this idiot around on these snow covered icy roads, me and our daughter is cleaning the egg up before the darn crap freezes to the window, siding and everything else it hit on the porch. No fun let me tell you. While I am outside with no coat cleaning the window.....a daycare mommy pulls in to pick up her two boys and says, "WTH, are you doing?" I explain it to her and she says "NOT, with MY boys in your house!" and takes off to find Mr Idiot also. Now, she is gone and dear hubby is gone (without his cell phone) looking for the idiot. So I wait....and wait...and walk down to the road like the idiot is going to come back for me to knock the snot out of him...and wait...so I leave. I drive up the road to the church and pass hubby coming back home so I turn around and come back home and he is just beaming that he got their license plate number. So I call the daycare mommy, who is talking to a local town cop and give her the license number. She was not a happy camper either. lol

Now, I can't leave anything alone. So I know the last name and the town he is from so I start googling....guess what I found him! I also found out why he would be in our neck of the woods, since he lives about 30 minutes from here...his dear ole girl friend goes to that local Christian school. What a co-inky-dink! I clarified that with the Sheriff, just to make sure I had the right idiot. lol

Well I am looking forward to next Saturday, I may have to video it and put his apology on youtube or something. lol

It's now 3:00am and I am still wide awake and probably will be for quite sometime. I really hate idiots sometimes.

My feet are freezing and I can't wear my slippers because they are all wet from the darn snow outside.

Tortilla Soup (Yep, like Max and Erma's)

I am getting ready to enjoy a delicious supper with 2 of my daycare kiddos and I thought I would stop and share what we are having. You are going to love it, trust me. We are having Tortilla Soup, just like what Max and Erma's has. Yummy! I'm sharing the recipe with you that I got from my niece Sarah.

Tortilla Soup

30 ounces of each soup:
  • Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • Cream of Celery Soup
  • Cream of Chicken Soup
  • Cheddar Cheese Soup
  • Chicken Broth
  • 15 ounces diced tomatoes
  • 4 1/2 ounces diced green chilies
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp chili powder (to taste)
  • diced jalapenos optional
  • 2 cans corn optional
  • salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 4 chicken breasts (I use one 28 oz cans of chicken)
  • tortillas
  • vegetable oil
  • shredded cheddar cheese

Directions:

  • In a LARGE pot mix all the soups until they appear to be somewhat smooth and well mixed.
  • Add remaining ingredients to the salt and pepper and bring to a boil and simmer for 2 hours to bring together the flavors and make sure you keep it stirred so it doesn't stick to the bottom of the pan. (or you can put it all in a crock pot for 2 hours)
  • If you are using the chicken breasts ~ cut them into small pieces and saute them. My niece adds some Chipolte taco seasoning to her chicken while she is cooking it. Add the cooked chicken to the soup and continue simmering.
  • While your soup is cooking you can make yourself some homemade tortilla strips by cutting some tortillas into strips and frying in some oil or you can buy some tortilla strips where you get croutons.
  • When your soup is done top with some tortillas strips and shredded cheese and enjoy!!
This makes a ton of soup. I have to use my big ole stock pot because that is the only thing that I have big enough. If you only make half you could use a crock pot. This soup also freezes well. I just throw it in some freezer bags and waa-laa. I hope you all enjoy this. If you have some different variations, please let us know what they are.

Audio Book Challenge: The Hope Chest (Brides of Lancaster County) ~ Book Review

I have finished listening to the 4th book in the series Brides of Lancaster County called The Hope Chest, written by Wanda Brunstetter.

The Hope Chest, Wanda Brunstetter (Paperback)

excerpt:

Rachel Beachy wants something she can’t have—her sister Anna’s boyfriend. When Anna unexpectedly leaves the Amish faith, Rachel’s hope is rekindled. Can Silas set the pain of Anna’s rejection aside and see Rachel as anything more than a child? Will Rachel be disappointed, or will she learn the true meaning of hope?

What I think:

OMGoodness, what a great book. I actually have been listening to this whole series on Audio CD's and let me tell you, they bring you right into the book. In this book Rachel gets her heart broken over and over again and wonders if she will ever get some of the things she wants out of life. She tries praying harder for the things she wants to learn that maybe that is not the way to go about getting those things. Rachel is a lot of help to her family and seems to get disappointed when it comes to things she wants to do or have. She sure does learn a lot in this book. I have to say, so did I. This is probably one of the best series' of Wanda E. Brunstter's that I have read/listened to so far. It's hard to tell though because I have never been disappointed in any of her books and they are all wonderful. Definitely a five star!

While I was over visiting At Home With Books, I came across a post where Alyce is joining this Audio Book Challenge, over at Royal Reviews and I thought why don't I do that. I love to listen to audio books when I go to bed, when I am waiting at the bus stop for the kids and when I am just driving around.

I missed my own Bloggiversary!

Leave it to me to have missed my own Bloggiversary. I started this blog one year ago on February 11th. I started for the reason of entering giveaways, because my SIL Aunt Rene was entering and winning some really cool stuff and I wanted some of the cool stuff too.

I have to admit I have had lots of fun over the past year and I have won some really cool prizes and I have also had a few giveaways of my own. I have met a lot of wonderful women who I would like to call my friends.

I have been MIA recently because I have been sucked into Facebook and it's apps FarmVille, Country Life and GardenVille. I enjoy all of that stuff also but I have let it consume my time. Harvesting, planting, plowing, making bread, watering the flowers and collecting things from other neighbors can really keep you busy.

I do miss reading everyone's posts. My google reader is so full that there is no way that I could catch up, so I am deleting them all and starting over. I miss leaving comments on other blogs and even more I miss reading the comments that everyone used to leave me. I am going to try harder to keep up with y'alls posts.

Anyway, Happy One Year Bloggiversary to myself!!

Rainbow Brite CD ~ Review & Giveaway (CLOSED)

As most of you know, if you follow me, that I am a Certified Daycare Provider. And boy do we like getting to try out things that has to do with kids. I was given an awesome opportunity to do a review of a Rainbow Brite CD from Hallmark and MomSelect.

Things have been so crazy that it took me a bit to get the chance to sit down and check out the Rainbow Brite CD but let me tell you that I certainly enjoyed it's bright colors and the activities were awesome. After I checked it out, I had the chance to sit down and let some of the kids play also.

On this CD, you get to meet Rainbow Brite and her friends, do some puzzles, play some matching games and you can print your child some coloring pages, which I must say that my daycare kiddos loved, and you can also watch a Rainbow Brite Video. My kiddos had fun playing this for hours. I, myself love the new makeover that Rainbow Brite has been given. Her and her friends are just so bright and cheery. There just never seems to be enough things taught to the kids about courage, kindness and hope and Rainbow Brite and her friends brings this to them.

At my house the girls really got into this CD. The boys....not so much. It seems like when they hit 6, the girlie stuff is just not "cool" any longer. Anyway, the girls loved it and are always asking to play the games and such.

This would be a great small gift addition to an Easter Basket or Birthday Gift. When I see this, it makes me wish my daughter was little again so that we could sit down and play Rainbow Brite.

~~ GIVEAWAY~~

I am giving away 1 Rainbow Brite CD to 8 winners!

~~Ways to enter~~

  • Leave me a comment telling me who you would give this CD to if you were to win.
  • Follow my blog, publicly via Google Friend Connect.
  • Follow me on Twitter.

Audio Book Challenge: Plain and Fancy (Brides of Lancaster County) (Book Review)

I have finished listening to the 3rd book in the series Brides of Lancaster County called Plain and Fancy, written by Wanda Brunstetter.

excerpt

Laura Meade, who grew up in the fancy English world, falls in love with Amish man, Eli Yoder. But Eli’s girlfriend, Pauline, has other plans for Eli. Is it good for two people, one plain, the other fancy, to fall in love? Will Laura and Eli find a way to be together?

What I think about the book
I just could not turn this audio book off. I have to admit that I missed some sleep listening to this one. Another job well done by Wanda Brunstetter. This book just pulled me right into it. When Laura meets Eli at a Farmer's Market and begins to ask him questions about the Amish, he offers to take her for a ride in his buggy to show her some of the area. This is where Laura becomes really interested in not only the Amish, but Eli also.

Laura has to face a lot of things when she falls in love with Eli. She takes a lot of risks falling in love with him. Pauline definitely has it out for Laura, all because of her own love for Eli. This is another book that I highly recommend for everyone to read.

While I was over visiting At Home With Books, I came across a post where Alyce is joining this Audio Book Challenge, over at Royal Reviews and I thought why don't I do that. I love to listen to audio books when I go to bed, when I am waiting at the bus stop for the kids and when I am just driving around.

Whew, we survived it!!

Well, central Ohio got slammed last night with a winter storm and we survived without losing our electric or cable, aka internet. It is absolutely beautiful outside, I just may go for a drive later and see some of the beautiful snow, but for now, I will stay on the porch and in the driveway to take some pictures.
