Grandpa and Grandma have...

A LOT OF STUFF!!
Way to much stuff for me. Mom and I went up to their house on Sunday and spent eight hours going through stuff. Basically we cleaned out 5 closets and the dresser, bathroom and kinda the kitchen. We never touched the living room, dining room or the downstairs family room, pool room, kitchen, laundry room or bathroom. What a huge house. I knew is was big, but it's bigger when you have to clean it out.
I guess maybe I should explain myself a little. They haven't passed away, we are just going to have a couple of garage sales to get rid of EVERYTHING left in that house. As you, who follow me know, they moved into an assisted living apartment about 8 months ago and now no longer need anything that is at their house. My theory, they haven't seen it or touched it in 8 months so they don't need it. We will have to have more than one sale because that house it crammed full. I wish I knew someone who wears size 6 petite and size 7 Narrow shoe. They would be in clothes and shoe heaven. I bet she had 30 pairs of shoes and half of them don't even look worn. Oh I am so regretting telling them I would do the sale for them, but nobody else would help. Heck, the family members from the Columbus are knew we were going through the house yesterday so I would have thought they would have showed up to help. My theory, you snooze you lose. ;o) Did I type that? ;o)
Well, I am off to get ready for my two 3rd shift kiddos then shower after they go to sleep.

No Bunny So Far

If you need to figure out what I am talking about you can go here to learn about my bunny rabbit problems.
I went outside right before lunch to check out my newly planted jalapeno peppers and all the other peppers I had left and to my amazement...........they were all there. I wasn't missing any, so maybe my gardens watchers worked. Let's keep our fingers crossed that they continue to do their job. Now I suppose I will have to name them. I can't let them protect my garden and remain nameless. As I promised, here at their pictures: (boy I am glad I didn't have to show you a pic of a dead bunny)

Just as I thought, the kiddos went outside to play before lunch and it started raining and they all come running in. And leave it to Miss Syd to come to me a little upset because the stuffies were outside in the rain. She says to me "You need to go get the stuffies and bring them inside, too!" So I had to start my explaining as to why they were out in the garden. Her response was "Well maybe the bunny was hungry, we should give him something to eat." Ah, that's a BIG NOOOO!
My SIL left me a comment on my last garden post and said the bunny should have waited to eat the peppers. Well, they did that too, last year. We did find a dead bunny the other day under the propane tank and no I didn't kill him. Maybe he was one of the culprits. I know there are more because more pepper plants came of missing after he died.

The ABC's of me!!

Bunny Rabbits Are NOT So Cute!

I worked hard getting my small garden organized and planted. I don't have a lot of room for things but I have a lot of things I want to grow so it takes time trying to figure out where I want to put everything. So after careful planning and planting for two days I am finally done, so I thought.

It all started when we got back from our camping trip over the weekend. I went out to see how the garden was doing and was so excited that my radishes and lettuce was starting to come up then....that's when I noticed it. Two of my hot banana pepper plants were missing. Missing I said! Who stole my pepper plants?? At this point I was upset but not too angry.

Then the following morning, Tuesday, I went out to water my beautiful garden and I noticed that two more of my hot banana pepper plants were missing. Who is stealing my precious plants? I am, at this point starting to get a little perturbed. So I water the plants and go on about my business for the day.

Then on Wednesday when I went out to water the garden, I noticed that my green beans and corn are starting to poke through and I am really excited because I didn't get them planted until Friday morning. And then the shit hit the fan!! I am now missing 12 pepper plants total. Something has stolen 6 hot banana and 6 jalapeno pepper plants. In case you missed it I said 12 total. Now, at this point I am getting really pissed off. So I water my corn, beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, squash, radishes, lettuces', green and red peppers. And I figure what the hell so I watered where my other 12 pepper plants used to be, for good measure. Then about an hour later guess what I see...A bunny! A cute adorable fuzzy bunny!! I say "Look kiddos at the cute bunny in the....garden!!!" Oh, not so cute anymore. It's going to be a fuzzy dead bunny.

So I went and bought 6 more jalapeno plants, they didn't have any hot banana plants, and I planted them. AND, I left the cute fuzzy bunny some friends in the garden to guard my plants. I left two purple stuffies, a cat and who knows what the other one is, out there to protect my garden from the bad, bad bunny. I will be sure to take some pictures of them tomorrow if they do their job and keep the bunny away from my plants. If they don't I may have a picture of a dead bunny for you to see.

Lets hope the purple stuffies work.

He bumped his head?

My Hubby took our Shadow dog to the vet this afternoon because under his right eye is swelled and red. And when we were camping this past weekend he just wanted to stay in an air-conditioned camper, with the door open so he can see outside. Hubby said that when the big ole klutz got into the truck he thought he hit his head on Hubby's Sirius radio head-unit. I certainly wouldn't have thought that would bother him.

I thought that maybe something was going on with his diabetes so I was a bit worried so I called the Vet this morning and made an appointment. So I sent him and Hubby to his appointment, and the Vet said that "He bumped his head!" What, he bumped his head? I sent the dog to the V
et because he bumped his head. Good Lord what's next, I send him to the Vet because he stubbed his toe? Am I getting too protective of him or what?

Happy Memorial Day!!

First off I want to say "THANK YOU!!" To all the Military Men and Women and their families for defending our great Country in the past, present and future.

We have had a great weekend. We spent the weekend camping at The Cardinal Center campground with my parents and two of my nieces, "T" and "A", and our daughter and her fiance.

We took the nieces swimming and took "A" to a music and candy hunt, boy is sure isn't shy at all. They played some kids music and played hot potato with water balloons then they were given baggies to go find candy out in the yard. We also played some UNO with "A" and for being 5 she is really good at it.

I feel like all I did was eat all weekend, Hubby always fixes a huge breakfast of bacon, sausage, eggs, biscuits and I fix gravy. Then my mom fixes supper. We had hamburgers on Friday, Steak on Saturday and BBQ ribs on Sunday. Yummy!! I fixed breakfast this morning because Hubby wasn't feeling well. The wind was blowing like mad so I cooked inside the camper, which we don't like to do. I just fixed some sausage links and scrambled eggs with ham and cheese in them and of course biscuits.
I love The Cardinal Center, they are getting more and more stuff for the kiddos all the time and they have an indoor pool, which is really nice. Their lots vary widely in sizes but we always get a larger one because we have three dogs to take with us and the bigger the lot the better.
Well, I am off to get ready for my third shift kiddo to arrive.

I want to win this..

I would love to have this sand and water table for my daycare kiddos. And boy they sure would love to have it. Life Starring Ellie and Eve is giving one of these away and her contest ends June3rd. And I personally do not want any of you to go over to their website and enter to win because I really, really want this. So please do not go over and enter this giveaway so that you make my chances of winning worse. I think I will cry if I do not get this, or at least my kiddos will.
I guess I should tell you that this is actually called the Water Rush Quarry and is made by Step2, one of my favorite companies. I love their products but, my kiddos love them even better.

You're not going to believe me...

...when I say that it is 9:48pm and this is the first time I was on the computer today. I had lots to do. When the kiddos laid down for nappie time I went out and started pressure washing my old/new porch, then I moved on to the siding on the front of the house then planted the flowers I bought yesterday into pots for my porch and went to get the kiddos off the kiddos off the bus then started using the pressure washer again to do the side porch (which now has a railing) for my daycare kiddos then on to the siding on the north side of the house, then the sidewalk, back porch, kiddos bikes and cars, playhouse and then did almost have of the back of the house. I had to stop, after about 6 hours I could not do any more.
My Hubby came out about 6:30 and said that he and our daughter had made an executive decision to have pizza from the Indian for supper. Some executive decision. After eating we went our and enjoyed the porch for about an hour. I finally have it all set up and ready to go, yippee!!
My three daycare kiddos are asleep, I have showered and I am headed to bed. And I am doing it without entering and giveaway or visiting any blogs. I am just too dang tired. Opps, I have to email Rene then I am off to bed.

Sunday, May 17, 2009

Today was beautiful out, a little chilly but beautiful!! I was awoke early by our Shadow wanting to go outside. So much for sleeping in today. Hubby wanted some breakfast so I fixed some bacon, eggs, biscuits and cheater gravy. I call gravy that is just made with bacon grease, flour, water and milk cheater gravy. I think gravy for breakfast should have sausage in it but I didn't feel like waiting for the sausage to thaw out.

After breakfast I was off to my parents to pay my mom for picking up our Shadow's insulin yesterday at Wally World. Believe it or not it is $20 per vial cheaper there than anywhere else. While I was there she sent me home with three porterhouse steaks, a whole chicken, brown sugar cured sliced ham and something else that I can't remember. Wow, that's horrible, I am telling you what...I am losing my mind. Just ask the Hubby.

Speaking of losing my mind, at breakfast I burnt the biscuits (not beyond eating), went to grab the pepper for the gravy and got the garlic pepper. That was just plain stupid because we don't even keep them in the same place. Luckily, I hadn't mixed it up yet, so I scooped it out and saved the cheater gravy. When I returned from my parents house I went to open our front door and my hand missed the handle and wham!!! I walked right into the door. DUH!! See, I told you I was losing my mind.

Okay, back to our day. After breakfast and laying around for about an hour Hubby and I went to the big town of Marion and visited the grandparents and talked with them about getting their stuff that's left in there old house ready for a sale. Oh, what a job that is going to be. I am definitely NOT looking forward to that.

After visiting, we went to KFC. That is hard for me to believe because it was Hubby's choice and he doesn't like chicken. I was wishing I would have taken my free meal coupons over so I could have got the things for my rain checks but I never dreamed we would have ended up there. I was wanting Chinese but Hubby is tired of eating it a couple times a week. I think I must have been Chinese in my prior life. =)

After the yummy KFC, we were off to Wally World for some groceries and supplies. I am loving my reusable bags, even though the cashier made it plain that she doesn't like them. If you haven't started using them, you should. They are so much easier to carry and you have less trips because they hold more.

After Wally World, we went to Menards for some flowers. I got some red and blue (purple) wave petunias for my hanging baskets and then some red, white and blue (purple) regular petunias for my pots on the porch. I hope they all turn out pretty. I also bought some of the soil that holds moisture for my pots so hopefully they do better this year.

You know, I sure do run a lot on my days off. No wonder I am so tired when Monday comes.

And the Winners are...

Well, I used random.org to generate my winner for the 16x20 Poster print. And I need to say Congratulations to:

It's finally over.

Today has been a really weird day for me. I finally got to sleep in until 10:00am (YEAH) then jumped in the shower for a few then got out and while I was getting dressed my Hubby called. He and two of his friends (RC and KS)were at my grandparents house getting ready to move the 200 year old bedroom suit from there to my parents house and he forgot the key (DUH). So I hurry and get dressed, pull my hair back and I am off to take them the keys and help them load the furniture. After that I was off the the bank then to my parents to help unload and since I had the granite tops to the dresser and dressing table I thought I should meet them there.

Of course by this time I am wanting some breakfast, so I went on down to Taco Bell for some taco supremes and I grabbed some for the Hubby and friends. I drop off their tacos and head on home to hear that my Delaware County Childcare check is at another providers home. Yippee Skippie. So after I eat I am off again to get my check and return home for a snooze. I was tired of running and had a headache and needed to take some med's and sleep it off. And I did, sleep that is. Can't say much for getting rid of the headache but I took a 2 1/2 hour snooze.

When I awake from my snooze, my phone is beeping...missed call....voice mail....text message! Whew, I had to answer all of them, one of which was a call from my Aunt J asking if I wanted to play cards tonight since we didn't get to play last night. That sounded good so I was off again to go to my cousin J's house to play even though I still had a headache. We had lasagna for supper but only played 2 games because my head got worse and I just wanted to come home to some peace and quiet.

So I have went through my 186 items in my google reader for those I am following, I entered a couple giveaways and now leaving this post and then heading to bed to catch some ZZZ's. Hopefully I do not have a headache in the morning, I have a lot to do tomorrow. I need to go to Wally World to get some groceries and flowers, visit the grandparents, clean the porch with the power washer and plant some flowers in pots for the porch so it doesn't look so plain. I am thinking I will get red, white and blue flowers. I think that would look good with my star.

If I am still up at midnight I am going to hit random.org to get a winner for my giveaway and do that post also.
Please leave me some love!!

GIVEAWAY (CLOSED)

Do not comment on this post for the giveaway.

Update on my ultrasound

To catch up on what this is about go here and you can read my previous post.

I headed of this afternoon to our local hospital for what I thought was just going to be a simple ultrasound. I should have known better, because before I was out of there I had my boobs smashed beyond belief. That was no fun at all. The lump the Doctor found on Tuesday is high and in order to get it into the picture there was a lot of smashing, adjusting, smashing, adjusting and then some more smashing. I was okay with the first pictures they took where it is the basic top/bottom smash and the 41 degree angle smash. Then we had to do an extra one at the lovely 90 degree angle, that would be the side to side smash, not good. Not good at all, it brought tears to my eyes.

But the good news is that both the radiologist and the Doctor that reads the ultrasound and mammogram said that they feel it is nothing but a fibroid and I should just follow up with my Doctor and let her re-exam me in a month or so and go from there. They also made sure to tell me that those tests are not 100% all the time. At this point I was thinking "Are you contradicting what you just said?" They also said that my Doctor may decide to send me to a surgeon for them to make the final call as a precaution.

Now that, that is over I feel much better. I am sure that I can catch some extra deserving ZZZ's tonight.

Wednesday was awesome!

Wheew, finally a good day. I won two giveaways yesterday, I won the booster seat from Vanilla Joy and I won two bottles of Log Cabin syrup from Momma In Flip Flops2.

I finally got to spend about 6 hours with a kiddo, who is now 25, that I used to babysit for. He, his girlfriend and his adorable 4 month old baby are in Ohio visiting and they came over for a bit and we went to Quaker Steak and Lube for dinner, it was yummy. It was very nice getting to see him again and to hear of all his great accomplishments and know that his life has turned out so wonderful. You see, he had a really rough childhood and went through a lot with him mom and dad who divorced when he was just a tot. His childhood was so rough for him that Hubby and I had started Foster Parenting classes so that he could come and live with us, but we made a tough decision to call his dad that he had not seen or talked to in years, so he went to live with him for a few years until he passed away 11 years ago. We are so very proud of him and everything he has become. Way to go B.E.!! We are definitely going to keep track of him and not lose touch. I was very glad to meet the two girls in his life, his girlfriend and baby girl. We call his baby "our should have been first grandbaby" =) Here are some pictures I swiped from his Myspace, thanks "B"!!

Well the weather outside is rainy again. Anymore that is nothing new. Everything is soggy outside including my garden that is finally tilled and needs planted. Hopefully after the rain today and then again on Saturday it will dry out like the weather man is calling for and I can get out there and get in planted on Wednesday or so. I could plant it now I suppose but I really don't want to get out there and roll around in the mud like a pig.

Please, no more crappy news!!

Have you ever had one of those weeks that you wish would just start over? I am having one of those weeks right now.

It all started on Sunday, with the darn wind blowing. I am so tired of this wind crap. First it messes up my roof and now it has truly made my bleeding heart bleed. The poor plant made it through my Hubby sitting on it to remove the railing to the deck, which is now a porch, with little damage. Then, the wind came. It blew everything off the porch and the darn beer cooler landed on my bleeding heart and smashed it all down. That is probably my favorite plant because it reminds me of my Granny. When you went to her house you had to walk by her bleeding heart to get to the door. I am saddened, but I know it will be back next year.

Then on Monday when Hubby finished mowing the yard he comes in to tell me that the tree that I planted in the front side yard has died.=( I was a little upset because that tree was about 5 years old and I have taken care of it since it first started growing in my flower bed. I know, you think I am crazy for caring about a dumb ole tree but it started from a seed out of the neighbors tree, and I made sure nothing happened to it, until it got big enough to plant. Now it's as tall as the camper or taller and it's dead! How sad, and I know it won't be back next year, Hubby is going to remove it so I can plant another tree.

Today is Tuesday and the crappy news continued. I had a Doctors appointment for my yearly exam, you know the one where you get poked and prodded. Well, I am laying there for the breast exam and my Doctor says "Do you do self exams?" I reply with "Yes, about once a month." And she comes back with an "Okay, I want you to feel this." I was not exactly thrilled to hear those words. I felt kinda felt what she was talking about, I think. It's not what I expected to feel. Anyway to make a long story short, I have to go this Friday for an ultrasound of one of my breasts to see what the lump is all about. Yippee Skippie! Talk about emotions running through my head, it gave me an immediate massive headache that took 3 Excedrine and 3 Tylenol to take care of. I swear, stress is going to be the death of me.

Let's hope Wednesday is better. I hope it is, we are going to dinner with a boy, B.E., that I used to babysit for about 12 years ago or so. He now has a little baby girl and is living in Arizona with his girlfriend, and is here in Ohio visiting. I have not seen him in about 5 years so tomorrow should be a good day, lets hope.

All three daycare kiddos are fast asleep now, so I think I am off to have my head land softly on my pillow and dream of wonderful things.

I have been up to...

Just wanted to update you on my last few days......
My Hubby left on Friday afternoon to go to Fairfax Virginia to pick up my nephew from George Mason University for the summer. He didn't get back until Sunday night, which left me and "R" here by ourselves for the weekend. I played lazy the whole weekend. I had Saturday and Sunday off and enjoyed doing pretty much nothing except on Saturday morning my Mom and I went to eat breakfast and then go visit the Grandparents for a bit. After that we stopped at Menards and I got the plants for my garden, providing I can ever get it planted. If the ground ever dries up and we can get it rototilled it will get planted. I am planting half-runner beans, soup beans, beefsteak tomatoes, cucumbers, green and red peppers, jalapeno peppers, radishes, onions and of course Candy corn. I am so excited, I love my garden.
After we got back from visiting and shopping for plants I laid around and watched TV until I ran and got me some Hunan for supper, Triple Delight, yummy!! Then I was off the bed to get to sleep in on Mother's Day.

After I got up my daughter fixed me a wonderful breakfast of bacon, sausage, hash browns, biscuits and eggs. And I will have to say she did an excellent job. Then later she went to Hunan and brought home an early supper of Grand Combination Chow Mein, yummy. After breakfast I just laid around again until Hubby got home and then I did a load of laundry, then relaxed again until my third shift kiddo showed up at 8:45pm, I entered a few giveaways after she went to bed then I hit the sack for some zzzz's.

Then Monday started...All the kiddos showed up as usual. They were all really good today, which is surprising because usually on Monday they are tired and cranky until nap time. Then nap time came so I went out and painted the ceiling on the porch. I don't recommend that to anyone. We got stuff for the ceiling that sorta resembles barn siding so that you won't be able to see the seams and all of those indents are a pain in the *ss to paint. I thought my poor arm was going to fall off. Thanks goodness that is finished, so I thought until Hubby came home and said "I think it needs another coat." All I could say was "Shit!! I have to do it all over again." Luckily I have to buy more paint so that gives me a break, yea!!

I grilled steaks for supper, which were really good and I also fixed Velvetta shells and cheese (Hubby's fav) and rice-a-roni and green beans. It was really a great supper. After supper I got on line to read my google reader to catch up on who I am following and that's when I learned that Momdot messed with my game plan.

I was doing such a good job keeping up with the 31 in 31 days and then she went and posted all the giveaways at once. Oh, so overwhelming. I am making the best out of and entering them one by one, trying to remember where I left off for tomorrow. Actually, I think it will work out better this way. I am trying my hardest to win me that $3800 playset. My daycare kiddos would love to have that to play on.

So my third shift kiddo is here and asleep so I am off to get some zzzz's.

Small Talk Six: Am I My Mother?

Want to join in? Go here to learn how and to view the weekly list Small Talk Six topics for 2009.It will be interesting to see how each participant interprets this week’s topic.

"Mom Blogs
at MomDot"

Today’s topic is “6 ways you are like or unlike your mother.” You can answer this with a list of 6 words, 6 phrases, 6 sentences, 6 paragraphs, 6 photos, 6 videos, etc . . .

Oh, what a difficult one...no one wants to be their mother (sorry Mom). I am not sure why but that's the truth these days, unless your mother is Harriet Nelson or Mrs. Cleaver. Anyway, here goes my best effort at this one...

1. Everyone tells me I am like my mother when I am grumpy and complaining.

2. I am NOT like my mother when she smokes, yuuuuuck!

3. I am like my mother when we drink Jack Daniels!! We are not alcoholics we just like an occasional shot of Jack if we (SHE) are out singing Karaoke.

4. I am NOT like my mother when she sleeps with the TV on, drives me nuts.

5. I am like my mother in the way we are both bitchy (so my Hubby says).

6. I am NOT like my mother when her and dad argue about stupid sh*t.

Feeling like dog doo..

Today has been a miserable day for me. I am feeling like crap and at my house we have a lot of crap, dog crap and kiddo crap. My throat and head are killing me and my friends Mr. Sudafed and Mrs. Excedrine aren't doing much to help me out. I think they are slacking on the job and if they keep it they might just get fired. I am not sure what could replace them but this is their ONLY warning, so if you see them around let them know that I mean business. I can't be sick, I have too too too many kiddos to take care of. I am awaiting my third shifter as I type. Oh Lord, give the strength and patience to get through one more day, 25 more hours!!

Poor Baby Robins

Well today was going really swell, the kiddos were being super first thing this morning so I got a few things done. I got a load of laundry in, the floors swept and the kitchen picked up all before we went outside to play before lunch. They behaved really well except for a few minor "I don't want you on the teeter/totter with me!" and "Hey, that's my swing!" Then we came had lunch, read a couple books, put a little girly on the Headstart bus then off to nappy night time. Everything is still going good, they all get up from nap, we get loaded into the car to go meet the bus and come back to have snack before we go outside once again.

This is where it gets bad....And the worse part the kids were so excited. They discovered a Robin's nest in a Locust tree, and yep one of them can reach it, and yep they take it out of the tree!! They discover one baby and two eggs that "aren't cracked" and then they put it back. Well did I ever surprise them when I told them that was NOT a good thing to do and that I was very disappointed in them for doing that. And went on to explain why they shouldn't do that and when I said "You know, the mommy bird might not come back to the nest because you touched it and the babies will die if she doesn't come back and when the wind blows the nest will probably fall out because it's not stuck to the tree anymore." the little girl who took it out of the tree started bawling and bawling. Poor Robins, I certainly hope Mommy comes back to take care of them.

Mrs. Robin, we are so very sorry!!
